Tips for your financial refresh in the New Year

The new year is a great time to clean out and organize... here are some tips on how to get started

  1. Review your budget - take a moment to look through your current budget. Are there any categories that need to be added? Are there any that need to be removed? Make sure your budget fits your current needs.

  2. Check your calendar - go ahead and pencil in big events already planned for the year. This way, if you need to set up a saving plan for a wedding or vacation, you have an idea of your timeline and savings goal.

  3. Review your homeowners and auto insurance policies - when do your policies renew? Do you pay monthly or is there a larger payment for which you need to plan? This is also a great time to sit down with your agent and review your policies to make sure your coverages are fitting your lifestyle and needs.

  4. Reflect on your big financial goals - look back at your goals for the past year. Is there anything that can be crossed off? What goals need to be added in 2023?

  5. Reorganize your documents and files - whether physical or digital files, take some time to go through your financial documents. Keep important items and clean out what you can. Things can quickly accumulate through the year.

Taking time to give yourself a financial cleanse and refresh can do wonders in setting you and your family up for success in 2023.
